Friday will be my last day of work in Paris, the moving firm is coming on the 16th and I will be flying to Singapore with my family on august 27th.
I'm currently in the process of selecting our Condo with two agents and have told them that booth a balcony with an unblocked view from 90°NW to 90°NE and a letter of approval from the premise owner would be mandatory.
Is any one of you aware of hamradio friendly condos ? Did you have trouble to get your antennas on the roof ? If possible I would like to avoid balcony antennas ...
I look forward to meet all of you in person during the first SARTS meeting in can attend.
Hope you enjoy it here in Singapore. I think it is a great place to live. Unfortunately, I live in an HDB and do not know of any ham friendly condos, but perhaps others will address that for you. I use an MFJ window mount antenna and I basically face north with a fairly open view from the 15th floor.
I would actually be surprised if the agents have any idea about ham radio and the associated needs for antennas and permission...... good luck on that one.
Thanks for your answer. One of the agents paid by my company has actually asked about pictures of the antenna I plan to install ( 5 Band HexBeam) so I hope I will get the approval letter from the landlord
I will keep all of you uptodate I have already planned to visit on september 29 !
For any modifications/extensions on common property, or affecting the external appearance of the condo, it is typically not up to the landlord to approve, and an approval letter may be worthless. The approving auhority would be the condo management council, represented by the condo manager.
Be warned that many companies and individuals may tell you anything you want to hear if it helps them close a sale/transaction, regardless whether its true or whether they even understand the question.
